Purpose

This document will give you a guide and information how to migrate Automated Work Log Cloud from one Cloud instance to another.

Data automatically migrated

All data related to work logs will be automatically migrated to new Jira instance no further actions are necessary. All work logs and work logs comments will be automatically migrated.

Manual migration of settings

Due to changes in ids of projects and issue types. Automated Log Work general and project settings will not be migrated. These settings have to be restored on new Jira instance manually.

How to migrate

Before migration on source JIRA instance

Just before migration on your JIRA instance there might be a few started timers. If timer is started the time is not yet logged. In such case Jira Administrator can stop all timer at once.

This can be done on page App->Automated Log Work->All Active Timers there will be shown “Stop all timers” button. By clicking this button and accepting stop all timers will stopped and logged.

Project admin can also stop individual project timers on Project->Automated Log Work->Project Active Timers and click “Stop All Project Timers” button.

After migration on destination JIRA instance

Restore manually general and for each project Automated Log Work settings.
